Can my child play with loose beads?

Loose beads are not suitable for children under the age of 3 years old. Please do not allow children under the age of 3 years to be left unattended with / play with loose beads.
For children of the age of 3 and over, please don’t leave them unattended and always keep an eye on them.

Can I give my necklace to a child?

No, please don’t do that.

All of the silicone necklaces are to be worn by adults only and are not a toy.
We also warn parents not to leave a child under the age of 3 unattended with any of our jewellery products.
Jewelry is not a toy. Children with fully developed teeth may be able to chew through silicone jewellery.
Please rest assured that the all the silicone we use is 100% food grade silicone and is safe for babies to put in their mouth, which means

What about your bangles?

Yes – all of our bangles are for a baby to munched and chewed on and do not pose a choking hazard. But never leave a child unattended with our products.

What about your teethers?

Yes – All our teethers are created for babies to chew on. All our designs are compliant to the AS/NZS ISO 8124 standards.
But never leave a child unattended with our products. Before each use check carefully. Throw away at the first sign of damage or weakness.

What about your dummy chains/soother holders?

Before each use check carefully. Throw away at the first sign of damage or weakness.
Never lengthen the soother holder
Never use in a crib, bed
Never attach to cords, ribbons, laces or loose parts of clothing. The child may be strangled.
Although dummy chains or soother holders are made of products that are safe to chew on,  they should not be used as a toy or teether.

What are your products made of?

All of the silicone in our necklaces, bangles and teethers are made of 100% non-toxic silicone and are independently tested by our New Zealand supplier.

All the wood that we use is unfinished maple wood or USA beech wood.

Where do you make your products?

Maby Beads’s range of jewellery and accessories are handmade right here in Hawke’s Bay New Zealand.
All of our creations we design are unique and made by us in our clean and meticulously maintained studio.

How do I clean my silicone Maby Beads product?

As with any product that you purchase for personal use (for you or baby ) so please ensure that the product is clean and perfect condition prior to use.
To clean our products simply wash in warm soapy water and allow to dry or alternatively if you are out and about simply wipe over with a baby wipe.
Store in a safe place without of reach of little hands or eyes. Never leave your child unattended with any of our products.

How can I adjust the length of my necklace?

If you wish to shorten your necklace, simply slide the clasp down then cut the cord to the desired length, leaving 1 cm for the knot.
Re-tie a knot at the end and slide the clasp over the top.

How do I open the clasp?

Our breakaway safety clasp as an added safety measure for your necklace so open the clasp simply by placing your thumbs on each side of the clasp and push down.

It is the responsibility of the purchasing customer to ensure that any items made using Maby Beads products comply with all relevant rules and regulations applicable to the market in which the customer wishes to use/re-sell products in.

Toy Safety – compliancy

All of our teether toys are compliant with the New Zealand toy safety standard ‘AS/NZS ISO 8124.1 – Safety aspects related to mechanical and physical properties’.
This standard ensures that toys for children up to and including the age of 36 months old are hazard free. Dummy chains or soother holders are compliant with DIN EN 12586 standards.
